Grid. Anchored on the week of the January 2015 bear-market low (Monday 12 Jan 2015), then alternating +1064 days (152 weeks) and +364 days (52 weeks). Every grid date is a Monday, so each line sits exactly on a weekly candle: 12 Jan '15 → 11 Dec '17 → 10 Dec '18 → 8 Nov '21 → 7 Nov '22 → 6 Oct '25 → 5 Oct '26 → 3 Sep '29 → 2 Sep '30.
Pivots. The actual cycle high (or low) is the highest intraday high (lowest intraday low) of daily candles from the phase's grid start to 30 days past its grid end. "Pivot vs grid" is how many days the real extreme landed from the grid date.
Pivot return runs from the previous pivot to this phase's pivot (low → high for bulls, high → low for bears). Grid-week close return uses weekly closes of the two grid weeks instead.
Unfinished phases. A pivot stays provisional ("to date") until its search window closes. Projected phases are drawn dashed and carry no returns.
Data. Bitstamp BTC/USD daily candles (UTC). Weekly candles start Monday 00:00 UTC. Closed daily candles are cached on disk by the local server, and every page load pulls anything newer from Bitstamp's public API.
